and CURE Bring You a World of Difference
World of Difference
brings together individuals to experience interactive learning exercises
that serve as vehicles to initiate discussions about diversity.
Developed by the Anti-Defamation League as a way to assist communities
in creating a safe, non-confrontational means of talking about prejudice,
discussions center around diversity and the issues that accompany
our changing society. Although our experiences may differ, the feelings
associated with them are similar. World of Difference allows participants
the opportunity to "walk in the shoes of another."
Activities focus
on self-awareness about diversitylooking at the sources of
positive and negative messages about groups of people. Also addressed
is "why" our perspectives may clash with members of another
culture. Time is also spent devising strategies to confront bias
on an individual and institutional level.

For purposes
of CURE activities and discussion, diversity will include: ability,
race and ethnicity, gender and sexual orientation, religion, and
socioeconomic status.
We are currently
searching for individuals in our community with a true commitment
to exploring the issues of diversity who would consider becoming
a facilitator for this program. If you are interested in serving,
or if you would like to attend a workshop, please contact:
